National Women’s Enterprise Day 2024: Celebrating Women in Business

National Women’s Enterprise Day, Ireland’s largest female enterprise event, is an annual celebration that promotes, encourages, and supports female entrepreneurship across the country. Designed and led by women, this event serves as a high point for shining a light on women in business and the unique challenges they face. It offers the opportunity to showcase successful female entrepreneurs, provide valuable networking opportunities, and highlight the range of supports available through Local Enterprise Offices (LEO) and Enterprise Ireland.
This year, National Women’s Enterprise Day takes place on Thursday, October 17th, marking its 18th year. Women entrepreneurs from all over Ireland will come together at 14 regional events for a day filled with education, motivation, and inspiration. It’s not just about finance, marketing, and product development—it’s also about addressing the unique challenges female entrepreneurs face, including balancing family life, mental health, and well-being.
Meet the Women Who Are Making It Happen
With over 1,400 women starting businesses every month in Ireland, National Women’s Enterprise Day is aimed at empowering women at every stage of their entrepreneurial journey. Whether you’re just starting out, scaling up, or ready to take your business global, NWED provides insights from some of Ireland’s most successful businesswomen.
For instance, Anne Heraty, founder of CPL and the first female CEO of a company listed on the Irish Stock Exchange, will share her journey. Other speakers include Aimee Connolly, founder of Sculpted by Aimee, and Norah Casey, broadcaster and former ‘Dragon’ on Dragons’ Den, known for her mentorship of female founders through her platform Planet Woman. Attendees will also hear from Kathryn Thomas, Chupi Sweetman, and Síle Seoige, offering a wealth of knowledge across a variety of industries.
