Latest COVID-19 support scheme statistics, 1 November 2021
The latest Revenue statistics on the COVID-19 support schemes show that 8,800 employers deregistered for the Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme in the seven days between 21 October and 28 October. Revenue undertook an exercise to deregister employers who were registered for the scheme but not making claims for subsidy payments.
Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme
There are 27,500 employers currently registered for the EWSS, which is down from 36,300 on 21 October. Up to 28 October €275 million EWSS payments were made to 22,300 employers in support of 256,900 employees. The total cost of the scheme has exceeded €6 billion.
Business Resumption Support Scheme
Since the BRSS opened on 6 September 1,320 businesses with 1,420 trades have availed of the scheme and claims of €4.5 million have been paid. Claims for the BRSS must be made no later than 30 November. Further information is available in the Revenue’s Guidelines on the operation of the scheme.
Covid Restrictions Support Scheme
Just 250 businesses with 420 premises continued to be registered for the CRSS on 28 October. Following the easing of public health restrictions on 22 October, no businesses are considered to be significantly restricted from operating for the purposes of the scheme. Businesses who continue to remain registered for the scheme have eight weeks from the date they ceased to be significantly restricted from operating in which to claim their restart week payment.
